PhD Studentship in Economics at Nottingham Trent University

Nottingham Business School’s success in RAE2008 confirmed a step change in our research profile, with one of the largest submissions for a post 1992 university, 80% of our research was recognised internationally. We now wish to build on this success and strengthen our core research areas by offering a three year full time doctoral studentship in the area of regional economic policy. The studentship will attract a bursary (currently £13,290 per annum) in addition to payment of tuition fees (equivalent to UK/EU fees).

This studentship is offered by Nottingham Economics, in collaboration with the Applied Economics and Policy research group. The study will be concerned with labour market dynamics, and will use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyse the impact of structural change on the regional economy. Applicants are welcome from any social science or business discipline, but an understanding of multivariate regression would be an advantage.

Further details are available from Dr Andrew Cooke, Director of Nottingham Economics, Andrew.Cooke@ntu.ac.uk.

Application packs are available from gsr@ntu.ac.uk

The closing date for studentship applications is 15 March 2010.
